had barged into his residence in DHA’s Nishat Commercial Area and robbed him of cash and other valuables.

He filed a complaint at the Darakhshan police station, but instead of taking the matter seriously, the investigation officer has done nothing to trace the

culprits.

He claimed that the Darakhshan police officials had demanded money from him to continue the investigation.

“On November 20, two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted me near Five Star Chowrangi,” he said in his letter. “They talked to me in English, as they

were aware that I cannot speak Urdu. They snatched my expensive mobile phone, laptop and a large sum of cash.”

He submitted an application with the Taimuria police station, but the police officials have yet to take action against the culprits.

Khizer said that even after these two robberies in a month, he was continuously being followed and monitored by armed men on motorcycles and a Pajero Mini,

adding that he was mentally upset to the extent that he could not take his final examinations.

He said if the situation persisted, besides him many other foreign students studying in the city would be compelled to leave the country.

He appealed to the police chief to provide him with protection, saying Saudi students considered Pakistan as their second home, but criminals and some black

sheep in the police department were trying to defame the country.

The student also met Karachi police spokesman Atiq Sheikh at his office to apprise him of his ordeal and demanded protection.
